The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Callibrate your Wacom tutorialHad you finally made the transition from intuos 3 to intuos 4?, or Are you rich to change into an intuos 5? Had you made the transition from a first generation cintiq to the new ones?. More levels of pressure will mean more quality to the paintings, am i right?.
Did you thought that by default the pen will it be like using butter on bread?, you try it for the first time and you love all of it, you said i have sooooooo much control on my strokes im having a blast. Then only to realize you only have total control of the brush but when you are moving it really slow?. But when you do quick strokes the pressure drops a lot of paint making you redraw tons of stuff?
Did you ever thought that painter its hard to handle with new tablet? Too much pressure? If it has more pressure why i cant control more easier the beggining of the stroke which is more crucial?.

Big Thank You Competition. <3 Pay It forward.

Hello everyone, it's been a while since I've updated my journal here on dA. I've missed you guys and dA, and lately I've been feeling like I don't get the time to thank you enough...So I want to show you how much I do appreciate the support you've given me over the years. I decided the best way is to run a quick small competition, nothing too complex. I want to keep it simple, but with a positive message. Christmas is just around the corner, and everyone loves giving gifts and receiving them. So I thought this competition could be about "giving thanks" to friends/watchers on dA, showing appreciation to artists/friends who have inspired and encouraged us during our time on dA.

The rules are simple:

1. Submit one piece of your own art/literature/prose/photography.( It must be a new deviation.) You can submit more if you are inspired by a few different artists/friends, but you will only be judged on one thoughtful, inspiring dedication.
2. Dedicate your submission to someone who has inspired you, either with their support, wonderful critique, friendship, or just the kindness they always show you. Basically it can based on any reason as long as it's a positive one.
3. Write in the description of the submission why you are dedicating this piece to the person you have chosen.
4. You don't need to go into too much depth, keep it simple, honest and thoughtful. Just explain what this person has done to always inspire/encourage you in 2 or 3 paragraphs only.
5.I will be judging all entries personally. I will automatically ignore anyone who is disrespectful of my simple rules.
6. Please send a NOTE with your entries to me personally, DO NOT leave links on my front page, as they will NOT be accepted as valid entries.
7. The competition will run from the 4th of December until the 13th of December (12am AEST).
8. I will be providing the prizes personally. ONLY THREE WINNERS will be chosen, not in any order, and will be given equal amount of prizes to keep it fair. (Please note that all these Prints are of equal $ value, even though some may be slightly bigger).
