Microsoft Employees Disrupt Wii U Best Buy EventsRemember how Nintendo was showcasing some of their E3 games at participating Best Buy stores around the country? Well, apparently Microsoft employees have been hired to go to these events and preach about the Xbox One and make comments like "why would you buy a outdated Wii U when the Xbox One is right around the corner?"
However, the employees aren't getting what they hoped for. Most customers just start bashing the Xbox One in response. Seriously, Microsoft, the people attending these Best Buy Wii U events are people who are intimately familiar with the crap you pulled at E3. They ain't takin' your shit.
At first I thought this might just be a case of one really loyal Microsoft employee taking matters into his own hands (especially since the original source was /v/), but reports have come in from numerous Best Buy's around the country that indicate many Microsoft employees have ambushed the demo lines trying to persuade people to switch to the Xbox One.

Please Pants Responsibly (Paper Notebooks FTW)

There are two ways to write a novel. Plotting (you make an outline, a plan, a roadmap if you will, and then you sit down and write it) and pantsing (you write "by the seat of your pants, throwing caution to the wind). So when I get asked if I'm a plotter or a pantser, I'm all like er, uh, hold on, let me? Pantser? I think? But I kind of, um, do planny things?
And it gets kind of awkward because in these inarticulate moments I have managed to confuse everyone including myself. And probably spilled a drink.
In recent discussions, however, I've had a bit of a revelation, silly as it is. I've realized that I -- like many writers -- am a plotter/pantser hybrid. And perhaps what I'm doing is something we could call Pantsing Responsibly. And, maybe, just maybe, I could share some of my responsible pantsing tips with other writers. Starting with paper notebooks.

The Used Game ParadigmOver the course of this past generation I've been watching the video game market react to the way it's been forced to deal with increasing changes. I've come out against used game sales and even written a journal about boycotting GameStop because (like most people at the time) I believed they were the root cause of all the problems the video game industry has. But that's something I don't believe now as intently as i did then. From where I sit, piracy and used games sales are a problem, but not in the way game companies want us to believe that they are.
Used games are a good thing for consumers. We get to try games out, and if we don't like what we see or finish it early, we trade it in and try another title instead. It's a very good system for us since video game rentals are much harder to come by. Lots of news!

On the 13th of September (my sisters birthday too!), I received.... *drum roll*... a DD!!!
I was having a major blond moment when I was staring confusedly at my screen when suddenly my message center doubled. I thought it was a glitch.

My "Quick Tutorial" on Vintage style received the DD!!

Thank you `joannastar, and `UnicornReality, everyone who commented/faved or viewed it.

Means a lot to me!

In further awesome news, I have been saving up for a new camera, and my parents went out and got it for me. Boy was I shocked!
Of course, it's not an SLR or anything like that, just a newer and better version of my older camera. It's the Canon IXUS80. I am very pleased with the sharpness, macro option and everything in general.
One of my first few photos was taken in a park near my house:

In other news, I've been mega busy, but obviously still commenting as much as possible and supporting my friends on dA. I miss you all, but I'm still around (it just looks like I haven't been on much because I don't update my journals enough).
So much has happened in the last few weeks. Last week I had 4 outcomes and I was so stressed out, I didn't know if I'd get through it all. Now I'm on holidays and it's revision time for exams.
I've put down some preferences, I know now what I want to do. Teaching (Primary/Early Childhood) seems a wonderful choice to me. My next preferences are Law, but I really don't enjoy it as much as I do teaching children. My work has given me so much experience and I love every minute of it.
So enough about me- tell me everyone, what have you all been up to?

We're having pretty good weather, but up and down a lot (sometimes overcast, then bit of rain, then extremely bright lol). It's hard to get a good photo when it's windy too.
